TV is Good

April 15, 2009

Ok, I’m a bit biased! But, videos like this from Britain’s Got Talent is very moving and if it doesn’t get you off your seat to pursue your dreams, I don’t know what will. Check it out, it’s truly fantastic and inspirational. Susan Boyle, unemployed at 47, auditioning in front of Simon Cowell et al. I’m a total sucker for this stuff (see Paul Potts for another example)…

That is very inspiring. I saw a link early on CNN but didn’t bother watching it until you posted it here. That should tell ya something ;)

Hi Andy,

Indeed - watching these reality talent shows, although a bit ‘cheesy’ at times, gives hope to all that if you have a skill, and are in the right place at the right time - your life can change in an instant. I follow American Idol and this time last year David Cook was working as a barman, and now he is a multi millionaire.

Its truly inspirational.

Hey Andy,

This proves you can never judge a book by it’s cover. Given her age and being unemployed, this is Truly Inspirational. I literally got goosebumps watching this clip.

Great find.

You think this was real? My first thought when I saw it was that it was entirely staged by Simon and/or folks at Idol — seemed like too many cameras in too many places, and too scripted of a response. Everything from her get-up to her choice of song, to her mannerisms — my hunch is that hollywood’s at play here, and they pulled off another doozy on the public at large.

Is there another link to where I can see the video you are talking about?
